The one-year blended Master of Arts in Interactive Media Arts program, jointly established by NYU Shanghai and NYU Tisch School of the Arts, combines online and offline learning. It includes two semesters of online study, along with in-person classroom sessions at three NYU global campuses or study away centers in Shanghai, New York, and Berlin. The program focuses on the production, application, and understanding of interactive media, encouraging creative expression and critical learning and thinking. The exhibition specially features works created by students in their capstone course, which begins with a 14-week online spring semester and concludes with a five-week in-person summer semester in Shanghai. During this period, students conceive, design, and produce interactive media art projects of their own choosing. The capstone project requires students to identify a research area related to their personal interests and engage in practical research, technical skill development, artistic exploration, user testing, and iteration. The outcomes demonstrate their insights, creativity, and new understanding of the subject matter.
