The School of Social Aesthetic Education of the China Academy of Art was established in 2023, as the first college in China explicitly named after "social aesthetic education." Its mission is to explore the pathways for the socialization of aesthetic education, promote the organic integration of degree education and non-degree education, general education and life education, initial education and continuing education, and build a lifelong education system characterized by "multiple levels, standards, forms, and channels." Grounded in the educational ideal of Mr. Cai Yuanpei—"replacing religion with aesthetic education"—the school has, since the inception of continuing education at the China Academy of Art in 1993, consistently dedicated itself to extending art education into society and expanding new frameworks for public cultural services. As a "college without walls," it engages with diverse populations and broad spaces, commits to the fusion of art and life, cultivates public aesthetic literacy and cultural creativity, and provides innovative practices and theoretical support for the development of aesthetic education in the new era. The School of Social Aesthetic Education at the China Academy of Art identifies "artistic healing" as one of its key themes. Adhering to the principle of "truly enriching people’s lives with a heart that loves beauty," it delves deeply into the practice of aesthetic education through art serving society. The exhibition at this Education Expo, titled "Realm of Co-Healing: A Social Aesthetic Education Practice Exhibition from Aesthetic Appreciation to Empathy," follows the core concept of "art as a bridge to healing." It focuses on the "healing" quality and effectiveness of aesthetic education practices in social concern, group care, and emotional relief. We firmly believe that art is never confined to aesthetic experience alone; it is closely connected to individual souls, collective emotions, and the pulse of society. The "healing" power of art lies in identifying and alleviating both visible and hidden issues in individuals and society. The expressive nature of art allows audiences and creators to deeply intertwine their personal feelings and collective experiences, fostering empathy through understanding and thereby responding to contemporary social issues, achieving broader spiritual and social co-healing. On-site, through four core components—thematic exhibition, teacher training, public workshops, and specialized courses—we systematically demonstrate how artistic media facilitate individual psychological adjustment and social emotional cohesion. From theoretical study to interactive engagement, we make the methods of artistic healing tangible and practicable. From talent cultivation to public aesthetic education outreach, we extend the power of healing to diverse groups, striving to build an inclusive "social healing field" where the warmth of art serves as an emotional outlet and a spiritual bond.
