创新设计学院是中国美术学院设计学科拓展的全新增长点，是中国美术学院在“双一流”建设上迈出的重要一步，同时创新设计学院还将探索人才、教学、管理、育人的新机制，成为全校机制改革提升的领跑者。作为大数据智媒体时代下的“包豪斯”，创新设计学院将成为中国设计教育变革的实验场，立足网络科技和数码文化新平台，培育艺科融合排头兵，激活设计教育最前线，建立一个艺术与设计、媒体与思想、创新与产业之间交互整合的创新教育枢纽。 YOUNG to young 是中国美术学院创新设计学院设置在第三学期的国际课程项目（又称小学期），是中国美术学院首次尝试区别于传统教学单元的跨班融合的全球联合教学实验。 2019 年， 第 一 季 YOUNG to young 以“Playshop” 作 为 主 题，“Playshop” 是“Workshop”的一种变体，中文翻译为“玩吧”(Come to Play)。我们意愿将所有的教与学，都潜藏于“玩”中，又同时以“玩”为目的。 2020 年，延续第一季的 Open Call，我们再次邀请全球优秀的青年设计师、艺术家、科学家、创新者加入我们的这场活力激荡的教学行动中。
School of design & innovation is a new growth point for the expansion of the design disciplines of the China Academy of Art. It is an important step taken by the China Academy of Art in the construction of "Double First Class". At the same time, the school of design&innovation will also explore new mechanisms for talents, teaching, management, and education , to become a leader in the reform and improvement of the school mechanism. As the "Bauhaus" in the era of big data and intelligent media, the School of design&innovation will become a testing ground for China's design education reform. Based on the new platform of network technology and digital culture, it will cultivate the forefront of the integration of art and science, activate the forefront of design education, and establish a An innovative education hub for interactive integration between art and design, media and thought, innovation and industry. YOUNG to young is an international curriculum project of the third semester for both level 1 & 2 students in SDI of CAA and also the first global joint teaching experiment that attempts to reorganize students in different classes, which is different from the traditional teaching model. In 2019, We applied “Playshop” as the theme of the first session of YOUNG to young. “Playshop” is a variant "Workshop", translated as “ 玩吧 ”(Come to Play) in Chinese. We intend to hide all teaching and learning in “playing”, but at the same time our purpose is to “play”. In 2020, continuing the open call of the first session, we invited outstanding young designers, artists, scientists and innovators worldwide this and participation in this dynamic teaching operation.
